Avignon Festival
Le Avignon Festival is the biggest theatre and live performance event in the world, in terms of the number of productions and spectators it attracts.
The Cour d'Honneur in the Palais des Papes is the birthplace of the festival, which takes place in over 30 venues in and around the city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including engineering structures, gymnasiums, cloisters, chapels, gardens, quarries and churches.
